Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Deskbell (“Deskbell,” “we,” or “us”) handles information when you use the Deskbell website, account service, and macOS or Windows applications.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, password hash, authentication sessions, and connected device information such as a device name and recent activity time.
• Subscription and payment information: plan status, billing-period dates, payment and subscription identifiers, and payment status. Creem processes card subscriptions, while Waffo Pancake processes eligible one-time payments through its checkout. These payment providers handle payment and billing details; we do not receive your full card number.
• Usage information: model-call counts and token-usage totals needed to enforce plan allowances and operate the service. We do not use this usage record to store the content of your chats.
• Support communications: information you choose to send when you contact us.

Chat content and model providers

Your Deskbell chat history is stored locally on your device. To answer a question, the relevant messages, images, and tool results are sent to the model service you selected. When you use the built-in Chime model, those requests pass through Deskbell’s service to its model provider. If you connect your own OpenAI-compatible service, that provider receives the request under its own privacy terms. Web tools also send requests to the websites they access.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, authorize devices, provide AI requests, measure plan usage, process and manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the service, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Cookies

The account website uses an authentication cookie to keep you signed in. It is used for account functionality and security, not advertising. Public website pages use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and page views. Google Analytics may use cookies and receive information such as the page visited, browser and device details, and approximate location. We do not use it on account or device authorization pages.

Sharing

We share information only as needed with service providers that help operate Deskbell, including model providers, hosting providers, Google Analytics for public website analytics, Creem for card subscriptions, and Waffo Pancake for eligible one-time payments; when you direct us to a third-party integration or website; or when required to protect rights, safety, and comply with law. These providers process information according to their agreements and applicable policies.

Retention and deletion

We keep account, subscription, device, and usage records while your account is active and as reasonably needed for security, payment reconciliation, legal compliance, and backups. You can permanently delete your Deskbell account and associated active service records from the account center. Payment processors may retain transaction records as required by financial and tax law. Chat history stored on your device can be removed from the app or by deleting its local data.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including hashed passwords and protected account sessions. No system can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password and protect access to your devices.

Your choices and rights

You can review plan and device information, revoke devices, change your password, cancel a subscription, or delete your account in the account center. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information. Contact us to make a request.

Children

Deskbell is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. A higher minimum age may apply in your country.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where required.
